So... talked to my COVID buddy tonight. Day 7 from first exposure, day 3 from second exposure.

Since he tested negative and is asymptomatic, his Chief ordered him back to work tomorrow despite them having 60 or so reserve officers.

I'm not gonna get into it, but his second exposure was a doosie. He was either infected, or he's immune like my guy at work who didn't get it from his girlfriend that he slept in the same bed with the whole time she was sick.

I mean dude's a cop, and worked all through the spring outbreak in Massachusetts... maybe he was asymptomatic then and has antibodies... otherwise there is no way he isn't infected right now.

I think a couple of days ago they scrapped THEIR vaccine due to people testing positive for HIV, although they said they were false positives.

But it was very interesting because of the ongoing HIV-insert discussion on this thread all these months.

Curious to know how they can confirm it's a false positive.

Are they just assuming the positives are false because they don't think the vaccine can give you AIDS?

I looked into it at the time and they used some HIV proteins to paste the spike protein onto another virus. Genetics on a lego level these days. Regardless, people tested positive for HIV antibodies, which they should have. That said they were aware enough to monitor for it, so it must not have been a total surprise.
