There is now early evidence to suggest there may be an increased risk of hospitalisation from the delta (b.1.617.2) variant. This could certainly explain why the hospitalisation data for the UK has risen so soon in relation to the case data also rising.

We need to get people those second doses before the virus has a chance for generalised exponential spread. There is a way out of this, but we have to move fast.

And by 'we' I mean the UK and others with this vaccination option. Spare a moment to think what this variant could mean, if these numbers all hold up, for countries with low vaccination coverage

It should be unthinkable that more people might die of COVID *after* we have vaccines that could save them. Yet, now with even more transmissible variants and little vaccine equity, that's what may happen. The emergency is great and billions are at risk.

Delta (formerly B.1.617.2) appears to be more severe in addition to more transmissible.Terrible news for the unvaccinated and for countries without prior big outbreaks or mass vaccination. We must do everything we can—immediately—to speed up vaccination.

I had more fun in North Korea in 2013 than anywhere else i ever traveled. The people are friendly, clean and everything is very cheap. Its not like our media says, its really not. Its poor yes but everyone is actually pretty happy.
