For a year it seemed every day there was a wild new claim about what terrible things COVID could do to the human body, now it seems the same thing is happening with the vaccines.

But in both cases, I'm just not seeing it in anyone I've know who has had either.

Why Alameda County's COVID death toll dropped 25%


The new count only includes those people "who died as a direct result of COVID-19, with COVID-19 as a contributing cause of death, or in whom death caused by COVID-19 could not be ruled out," according to a statement from the county.

The daily cases in India are almost back down to the levels they were at when everyone said how good a job they were doing at COVID.

Rhode Island is #2 for cases per capita in the nation, given the lack of testing early on they are probably #1 considering the first outbreak in North Dakota didn't start until the fall when there were orders of magnitude more tests being done.

Anyways, lowest 7 day average now since 3/28/2020. And two weeks before that, the average was zero.

P.1 is 10% of cases now in New England, and the daily totals continue to fall.

South Africa variant is being pushed out by others, having dropped from 0.5% of cases 2 months ago to 0.3% now.

Definitely a nothingburger.

All 4 of the India variants don't seem to be taking off, still a nothingburger at less than 1% of cases.

To be noted the P1 variant comes from South America, and most of the traveling protocols have been stunted, but it has slowly been moving through Central America, and now the cases in Mexico have gone up 23% over last week. I would call it the P1 variant moving up and into America. We are not out of the woods yet.

P1 is 6 to 10% of new cases in the US. Travel isn't going to make it worse, it's been here for many months.

There have been more cases of P1 in America already than there are people who cross the border every year.

And the southern border has been wide open since January 20th, there are no travel restrictions.

P1 was bad in Brazil because Brazil is a shithole.

No foothold of any of the variants here, the fact that 60% of the population has been vaccinated is just reducing the potential of any spread to the very munimum.

This is about 90 deaths a day away from being "just a flu, bruh".

I updated software on my iPhone X. Now it has an inch wide band of green light on the screen. It has melted into the battery case. Can’t get it out. I don’t want to use it except for emergencies.

My iPad is also weirding out and won’t allow even viewing of most sites - only allowing YouTube mostly. Not even allowing updating soft ware- says need to update on my computer. I don’t have a computer.
