His mindset seems to be very typical of a lot of Americans, particularly, I'm afraid, upper middle class People far more intelligent than millennialss. They are a generation that, apart from Vietnam, have known very little trauma and have ridden a technology and credit bubble to a place where they have comfortable retirements and an intense sense of entitlement. And why not? The world is their oyster, they are used to the "customer is always right" service, and every potential crisis in the last three decades has worked out just fine.

Their normalcy bias is very strong, and we are talking a definition of normal where if Chipotle errs in using pinto instead of black beans, they feel justified in an angry screed on Facebook.

They are going to be very late to react. And very angry when the cavalry does immediately ride in to save the day.

I don't know about an incubation that long. I suppose it might be possible, but odds are they either remained infected after being sick, or it's everywhere and they picked it up from someone other than the one Wuhan resident.

Every single medical expert has said that that is not true. Patently untrue.

This guy, Matthew Smith, is so bullheaded, stubborn, pious, reactive....

I think he's in for a rude awakening.

Here he's arguing, again, that he's going to be allowed to disembark and go sight-seeing. He thinks he's already been quarantined on the ship so they're going to just let him go into the general population:

Yep, I truly believe he made the wrong decision. Even if somehow he does get to wander around Tokyo till March 4, what are the chances that travel to Japan is shut down by then, OR that citizens entering from Japan all get a 14 day quarantine when they return to USA, just like anyone coming from China now? Pretty good chances, I’d say.

As I said last night, you couldn’t have got me off that boat and back to US soil fast enough, and I say this as someone with great love and respect for Japan and the Japanese government. Fact is, Japan’s main concern is the people of Japan, not an American citizen who could potentially infect those people.

Japan is tightening things by the day. I think that they are trying to clear that ship of as many non-japanese as possible, then they are taking them all to Fukushima for a very isolated extra quaratine. Sight-seeing lol, yeah go ahead.
