Thank you. Feeling frustrated. I fly out of IAH in the morning and I don’t want to bring anything viral to elderly parents or someone who just had heart surgery. Guess I’ll still wear mask and gloves. Maybe some far off chance to not bring anything viral with me. I’ll just look like a freakin idiot. Oh well, if not as if I’m not one already.

Everyone should immediately begin growing extremely thick and long nose hairs as if their life depended on it.

Depends on the population density of where you live. Many GLPrs are out in the sticks. Many are in densely packed cities and suburbs. Many in the Midwest or Texas where there are less dense populations, many on the coasts where we congregate like droves of ants everywhere.

I live in the suburbs by a military base in a reasonably large city. Wife works in a hospital. Special needs daughter works in a gym as a daycare staff, son is a high schooler. I expect, and have prepared for, visible signs of this epidemic before May 15th due to my proximity to all of these factors. One way or the other we're going to get this, it will affet me and my family and we will see it.

I've been watching people's videos of those dying from Covid-19 lately. Watching them hook up to vents, drowning in the air. Much suffering in this. There's a reason they went whole hog on quarantine, it is not pretty. And I imagine myself or my loved ones dying this way, at least inthe west they will be sedated, in China they are wide awake for and most are dying at home this way. It's a horrible death I wouldn't wish on anyone.

And it's very real, and it's happening, and it's spreading. And we are not prepared. By me I mean any nation. Nobody has enough beds to support a crisis like this and people used to the way things are typically done in the West are going to be in for a painful awakening very soon. There's a reason this is being heavily controlled as it is. This is something that would otherwise create a panic. If people saw how bad it was for those dying of this...everyone would be running for the hills or demanding their govt's enact whatever protocol they can to stop the spread.

Watch the videos of those dying long enough, young and old. Tell me you're comfortable with your loved ones, your kids, your wife or parents, best friends etc...going out like this. And tell me you wouldn't do whatever you could to help make sure they don't get it to begin with.

I'm always concerned for others first, that's my role. But this one, hell, this one makes ME not want to die from it. It's a terrifying way to die. The odds are I won't. But I want to increase those odds and maximize them as best as I can.

I'm now not scared of the rioting, looting, gangs, military, quarantines or men in masks, I'm actually scared of this damn Virus after watching how it kills. There's a very clear reason China has reacted so strongly to this.

For what it's worth.

My belief is that this sort of information will be shared on sites like this more than mainstream media.

IF, and it's a big if, but IF the government, a la what's been happening on social media, convinces them to downplay the issue a lot of people will believe that it's "nothing". And the uninformed will go along with "it's nothing, why worry?"

If no one tells you that something is happening on a large scale you don't realize it.

PS - Positive-pressure suits are great for staying cool and not getting overheated, as long as the supplied air is fairly cool itself. Might not work so good in July or August, tho.

The virus originated in China, not Sweden or Denmark. It's not "bigotry" to admit the facts about where the outbreak is centralized, and who is spreading it.

There were reports of 1700-2000 5 days ago. Big change.

It's been slow across all of Europe. No doubt, a number of undetected cases everywhere but at this rate I can't see anything other than a very slow burn in the UK. Maybe in 2 months from now we might see double or even triple the current number - then I guess things could gather a bit more pace once more infection-chains gradually develop
