I can't provide any sources without revealing how I got this information, so take this with a huge grain of salt. However, I am a known entity here, I would not spook you guys for the lols.

An uncle in New York works closely with a billionaire client. They aren't exactly friends or even acquaintances, but having talked to this person so much the billionaire's empathy came through and they fed the uncle a tip. This uncle was firmly of the "it's just a flu" "it's just a media scare like ebola" belief, despite serious attempts at persuasion from me. Today he called me up in the morning FREAKED THE FUCK OUT. It was like he was having a panic attack. He was a strict denier previously. The billionaire basically told him that they can't stop it, most of the world will get infected, and that 2-3% of the world population will die, mainly older people and those with preexisting conditions.

They will be doing mass Quarantines in Manhattan like China. Everyone will be forced to stay inside, subways will shut down, manufacturing plants too, etc. Food and supplies will run short. FEMA will obviously try to help distribute, but you may not want to rely on them. He also said that "residents of Manhattan may have to evacuate due to lack of commerce." I don't know exactly what they meant by that, the uncle wasn't talking coherently and I don't trust them to accurately convey the specifics of the conversation since he is a little dimwitted. I imagine he is referring to quarantine camps. The uncle didn't elaborate on a timeline for these measures. The billionaire is personally taking large expensive measures to protect them self too, although they didn't elaborate for obvious reasons. Might be fleeing the country or holing up in a bunker somewhere I imagine.

The uncle is now rushing to stock up on canned foods and water today in a panic.



Now for some things to consider. This information isn't exactly a super secret. The billionaire could have just as easily gone on r/Wuhan_Flu and seen such a prediction. Hell, they could have gone on something much more mainstream and heard a study suggesting something like that. 2-3% mortality is optimistic in some ways. It does seem a lot more credible when a billionaire says it though, especially with their money giving them access to information resources and an army of expert advisers that we don't possess.

Thoughts on this? Seeing someone I know irl freak out so much about it when most people that I've talked to blew it off was a big wake up call for me, and it made this nightmarish situation feel much more real.

A woman who had travelled to China was evacuated from a plane on Covid-19 fears in Winnipeg, Canada. It was bad enough that flight crew asked any medical personnel on board to assist. Without proper PPE, I wonder if they had any takers? Feeling unwell? Board a plane. No one's going to stop you.
