Serious answer: Because a lot of the people that frequent GLP meet the definition of "survivalist" or "prepper," which the US government considers to be a sign of a potential domestic terrorist.

Buncha hypocrites if you ask me. Everyone from the President down to DHS and FEMA all say "Be Prepared!" They even have a website called "ready.org." But they only want you prepared for 72 hours. If you prepare for more than 7 days, you risk being put on a watch list as a potential domestic terrorist.

And yet, here we are in a situation where we might be forced to shelter in place in our homes for an unknown extended period of time with unknown access to food and other necessities. So the extra food I've stockpiled somehow makes me a domestic terrorist.

I don't understand it, but it's one more example of how we have let our federal government get too powerful.
