They test for DNA (or RNA actually I think in this case), but think of cold case investigations where they get DNA from evidence sitting in a locker for 30 years.

There were several well respected doctors on the SiriusXM CoV coverage channel saying that CoV is actually a pretty easy virus to kill, even regular bar soap can kill the virus by dissolving it's lipid layer.

If you can let it sit on a shelf for a week after arrival I think you're good to go.

In MA the construction workers are out everyday, treating decks and renovations as essential. Also bigger sites like a new motel being built nearby, they were painting ffs. I can understand making the site weather tight, but after that gtfo.

If they find traces of the RNA, it doesn't necessarily mean it's an active virus that can infect. It might also be there case that people that have tested positive after being discharged have viral particles in their system that are giving a positive result while not being infective. They would have to try growing the virus in a tube with human cells to see if it's "alive"

I remember Kent Steadman!
