Testing is few and far between and combined with a 14 day incubation period the reported numbers of confirmed cases seems very low.

There are medical experts who predict Mexico will suffer much greater losses of death than most other countries due to higher than average rates of Diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Combined with the lack of hospitals and medical infrastructure and massive rural areas with little of any medical facilities this is a perfect storm. For me the closest hospital is 2 hours way apart from a rural hospital an hour away that has limited beds as it is.

As announced both major beer companies have stopped all production of beer and beer sales due to being considered a non-essential product. However the real truth to these closures is the fact that here in Mexico the largest portion of beer sales are in returnable beer bottles.

This prevents a huge health issue even when there isn’t a pandemic. Now with all these empty contaminated bottles going back to the store or point of sale only to then contaminate the store, employee’s, or even customers is why these companies have ceased production and sales.

These closures were forced on these companies and the real reason was not given because there are so many people who simply do not heed or consider this to be a very serious situation. As of today I am seeing people still buying beer and soda in returnable bottles as if life is still normal.

This brings me to Coca Cola, as they offer a wide variety of returnable glass and plastic bottles and have not suspended sales of these items as of yet. This is a huge health hazard and during a pandemic if Coca Cola is continuing this practice they should be held financially liable.

There are some places where roads are being closed into some areas in a preventative way to stop the spread of the virus. While all of these measures will help slow the spread of the virus it will not stop it.

Yesterday in our rural area the government handed out pension money for those who are 70 years old and older. Large groups in the hundreds of people lined up without any social distancing and fought their way to the front to get their money, often times younger family members having to accompany their older relatives. This cluster fuck of people were all probably unwittingly spreading the virus.

Our local banks have contacted loan holders and said they are not charging any penalties or additional interests on loans and if you cannot make payments they will work it all out in 2 months or when the lock down is over… basically admitting these loans are now going to be written off.

Utilities are said "won’t be cut off", and are to remain “on” even if there is a lack of payment due to the lock down and loss of jobs. All the factories in our area have closed and many nonessential business have also closed. Our local government and state government offices have all been closed now for a week and will remain closed until further notice.

The bottled water trucks, grocery stores, propane and other vital services are still running for now. Thankfully I am on a well so we have water and should continue to as long as we have electricity but I cannot say the same for cities who have a water system.

With the loss of jobs and the already super high poverty rate even before all these closings, I know we are in for much higher crime rates, and desperation on the part of many who have families and babies to care / provide for.

I will post further updates as I hear anything just to share firsthand knowledge of the situation here. Feel free to ask any questions.

If you put it outside you'll need to use fasteners that are impossible to remove. And whatever you'd consider? Use the heaviest fasteners you can obtain; thin, short screws simply require a small pry bar to remove.

I'd suggest inside, yeah there could be broken glass but it'll stay largely outside the living space.

There is going to be a lot of that coming up. I'm not sure how many preppers are actually ready to pull the trigger on their neighbors, friends, and family if they show up wanting handouts. It's one thing to say you will, but nothing compared to that moment when they're actually coming up your driveway bawling and begging while you have them in your sites and your finger on the trigger. That's what I was thinking too. I know for storms they put the plywood outside to protect windows. This is a different situation when people are trying to break in.

I keep a trickle charger on my truck since that is our bugout vehicle. But I would say that as long as you have no drain coming from anywhere, you could leave it for a couple of weeks and it should still start up.

Thanks for that info but I'm safe from that. There's a very clear sign in my lawn that says "no solicitors" and also a no trespassing signs in my garage I'll put out next week.

On a serious note, I've spoken with most of my near neighbors and everyone seems to be prepped to a decent degree. Not as much as we have, but I didn't really share what we had. Just said we should be okay. If anything we will hopefully band together. safety in numbers. Wishful thinking, I know.

Well I have a store front with large glass windows... the window frames are fastened into aluminum frames with good quality screws. My business is now closed but we have not covered the windows and have made the store look as empty as we can. We are inside and have a small sliding window to answer to anyone who comes up to us... we give them attention and they move along. its important for them to see we are here yet we are looking as if we have nothing.

Also, even if you do make it off the vent, you likely have permanent lung damage, maybe other organs, and still lacking data on the “chronic infection” situation.

My structure here is reinforced rebar cement and brick... hard to burn down, if not impossible. Sure they can shoot through the plywood but at that point Im sure the windows behind the wood are already broken if Im using plywood so its a moot point.

Start it and let it run a full ten minutes, or you can trickle charge it. Modern cars draw current from the battery continuously even when shut off and allowing it to slowly drain completely will ruin it
