No one is taking your freedom or your liberty away from you. You are still free to do what *you* want to do, and the worst that will happen to you is you might get a fine for being out when you shouldn't. A fine. There are a lot of countries that will just shoot you for disobeying government orders.

You're still free to come on forums like this one, or any social media platform of your choice, and bitch about what the government is doing. You can contact your elected leaders directly by multiple methods and tell them what you think of them for allowing this to happen. You can even vote them out of office at the next election cycle. There are a lot of countries where speaking out against the government or telling the world what's happening to you will cause you to just disappear.

You're still free to go buy groceries, order things online, watch unlimited porn, read books. Hell, you could use this time to take an online class on something and improve yourself.

And, unlike 9/11 and the so-called "War on Terror," we're not trading freedom for security; we're trading a little bit of temporary inconvenience in our lives to save fucking lives, including possibly your own. Or mine. Or my wife's. And see, that's thing that pisses me off the most. This whole Red White & Blue, fuck the government, this is 'Murica, and I'm free to do what I want attitude puts my family at risk. And then it's not the government you have to worry about shooting you; it's me.

We are under a state of emergency at the national, state, and local levels from a threat none of us has ever faced before, and the only thing you can think of is *your* liberty and *your* freedom? Like I said, damn selfish.

You know, if everyone were to just stay the fuck home for one month - and I truly mean stay the fuck home - as in you don't open your doors except to pick up food deliveries, and we killed all international and domestic travel in this country? We'd have it licked. We could stop the virus dead in its tracks, and then just reboot everything right where we left off.

But, no, it's more important to have our "freedoms and liberties" while the active infection rate and fatalities just keep on climbing. Like I told a family member on FB who was being a complete millennial about this whole thing: If you deliberately violate the stay-at-home orders, and you're a carrier, and you infect someone who later dies? That makes you a murderer. And then I don't give a DAMN about your freedoms and liberties.
