Funnily, I've been coughing ever since January - after entering a grocery store with coughing people in it.

Under current quarantine rules, that's the exact grocery store I'm supposed to shop at.

I haven't been in it since January. I'd grow my own food in the toilet before I'd go back into that disease vector.

We know:

Daughter's co-worker (a nurse), her husband, her husband's elderly live in mother. All positive, all recovered with No medical intervention.

My broth-in-law, NYS correction officer. Returned to work 14 days after testing positive. He said it was like a bad cold and had no medical intervention.

A neighbor's elderly aunt, in oxygen 24 hours a day. Contracted and recovered, only prescribed Zpac and normal oxygen therapy.

A close friend / neighbor tested positive yesterday. He is currently home and describes symptoms so far as a bad cold.

I have been in this thread from the beginning and I am not trying to downplay the virus. My own real world information indicates most people are relatively unaffected. My largest concern at this point is the ensuing worldwide economic collapse and the violence and starvation that will follow.

yes i do realize it. still it is damn obvious the hospitalization rate is WAY lower than 18% which means the death rate in case of overwhelmed healthcare system is much less. 5% tops that means every 20th person dead. thats the absolute worst, but from the numbers it is rather 1% because the tested data .

based on worldometer data usa death+serious rate is (16k+10k)/457k = 5.7% death rate without any hospitalization, but as we pointed out the total infected is at least x10 which means is it only 0.57% death rate.

even in case of 5.7% thats only 450mil dead worldwide and i guarantee you the remaining 7.3bn ppl will be utterly devastatated by the economic destruction that we witness right now even with these unbelievable money printing central banks.

i remain isolated and recommend everyone do the same but i now understand the thinking behind opening up.

the "theorical" new cases should be recomputed every day multiplaying every "cases" value by the ratio of that days' test on the last day's one.
That would make the peak patten more evident.
But, i repeat, it doesn't matter, because the numbers that really count are the absolute ones.

I have a friend that wasn't a nothing burger, in fact quite concerned, and he was in the car line yesterday in Los Angeles for a test, his video.. ugh his cough sounded awful. He has asthma. So I am pretty worried about him. He works in the movie and music business and has bugged in as best as possible, but had to go to doctor and I worry he may have gotten it then.

And I am very suspicious or the test kits as a whole in their ability to differentiate a common cold and the Covid-19. I've seen nothing that gives us any satisfaction with the test kits authenticity and accuracy. They are putrid and offer no real gold standard to relate. It is a crap shoot. Too many false positives and false negatives.

Most people with a cold who goes and gets a test kit will likely be positive.

I live in a Hertfordshire commuter town and there was NO clapping for the NHS tonight, same as there hasn’t been for the last 2 Thursdays. I’m glad I live in Herts though - Herts police are lovely compared to some other police forces I could mention.
