I'm honestly baffled by tool quality. In general every old (power) tool I have ever owned that I can rely on was made 20-30 years ago (need to replace batteries for power tools, the tool itself is fine). Nearly nothing made after that has the same usable lifetime.

Having a fire, some wine, going to make up some fajitas in foil packets over the fire. Yay for a quarter cow. Have been disconnecting from any news other than this thread. It's really helped get me recenter on the tasks at hand.

Looks like they are starting to trickle the flow of information a little more.

I think the 4th of July will really be a turning point.

So enjoy things before the sand storm gets here cuz I think that will really fuck things up

The US Navy has issued an order that all service members, family members, contractors, etc. are basically under strict lockdown, regardless of what the current state or local law happens to be.

By strict lockdown, I mean we are not allowed to do anything on or off base that is not essential. No bars, restaurants, public beaches, pools, gyms, barbers, salons, shopping malls, movies, large gatherings, etc. The list contains everything you could possibly imagine. We are limited to work, groceries, pharmacy, child care, etc. Masks must be worn in those situations and social distancing must be adhered to.

The order is enforceable under the USCMJ (United States Code of Military Justice). I have no idea how strictly they intend to enforce it.

The order just came down last night. I'll post a link when it gets reported.

I read over the reference to me in the initial post, I 'skim' my morning catch up. Ask me anything that won't Dox me. I try my best to be as objective in my discussions here as I can be but my political leanings are pretty transparent.

It's not being reported (so I've been told), but the border states are getting a lot of cases of people coming from across the border who are already sick.

Arizona was specifically named as sending sick people to Colorado via helicopters.

Obviously I can't name a source, but it is credible.

It really would help explain why California and Arizona's (and maybe even Texas) numbers have gone up so fast.....right at the same time Mexico has gone exponential.

It leaves a question mark, however, for New Mexico. Maybe Road Runner can comment on that.
