The New Mexico governor had a press conference today and I will post it when it becomes available. Our cases took a large jump today, about 35%. Hospitalizations remain the same.

Because you're only looking at the obvious. Do you realize that stubborn Texans hardly wore masks? Completely disregarded social distancing? Between all the past holidays from Mother's Day, Memorial day, Father's day and little backyard parties and not to mention church gatherings, you have super spreader events.

My friends have been sending this story around a lot yesterday and today. I think they are finally reconsidering all these little get-togethers they are having.

So... would you guys like to hear how the company which makes the turbines that supply probably a third of the power you use handle COVID outbreaks among their outage crews?

As you may have seen me post earlier, I was working at a power plant this week at the same time as a crew from a major turbine manufacturer.

On day 2 of the job, they found out the entire crew had been exposed on a job the previous week. They immediately dropped all tools and left to get tested, with the power plant completely torn apart.

Fast forward to today, half the crew was back but apparently only 1 tested positive. Everyone else was cleared to work even though their exposure was only possibly a day or two old.

I also had some critical systems of this plant taken apart which I just got back together today. Everyone at the plant pretty much considered eachother "COVID buddies" by that point, figuring now if any one was fucked we were probably all fucked.

So social distancing and mask usage was spotty at best. General theme of the week was, "Welp, we're gonna put this turbine back together and hopefully we aren't all fucked next week".

We even shook hands at the end of the job... something that carries a lot more meaning these days.

If you live in the northeast, enjoy that A/C this weekend because I met a bunch of guys this week that probably are about to pay a steep price to make it happen, myself included.

Yes Uncle Doom, very happy to have you back!!! I always remembered what you said last time and did our best to never ever get infected with this virus and even went to the extent of wearing goggles whenever outside with 2 layer of mask (N95 + Surgical).
