I was at the L-5 Society Annual Convention (1984? I forget).

At the banquet, everyone at my table was very excited. I asked why.

People could by chance get sane and adjust to the reality that the virus is a serious threat to mostly old people WITH certain co-morbidities.

And after that initial adjustment to sanity, they could get even more sane and decide maybe nobody should wear a mask except maybe old people with certain co-morbidities, and they should wear protective masks (e.g., N95 or greater).

And they then might get even more sane and decide everything should get back to normal except for old people with certain co-morbities.

But that would disrupt the fun of all the malicious people in power "making hay" with this pretend comprehensive threat and would force all the normally insane Americans to to start another deranged movement.

I used to feel the urge to bang head here.... but honestly.... if folks haven’t taken this seriously, since March....

They aren’t going to take it seriously.... never ever. I fully expect by end of September that Iowa will have an insanely large number of teachers and kids with Covid19.

It’s heartbreaking, but I can’t participate. I am hoping we get a spike and the governor has to reassess this stoopid idea. Like from the beach vacations that come home to Iowa.
