I like the trauma kit on the last link. Here's what I suggest having:

I prefer non-stick gauze and medical tape to bandaids. The adhesive on bandaids don't stick as well as medical tape. Also, you can cut the gauze to size or use the large on if needed.

Coban if you can find some. It's great for large bandages and sticks to itself. In a pinch you can also use it as ace bandages.

Neosporin or any antibiotic ointment for the obvious.

Aspirin, Benadryl, Ibuprofen, Pepcid, Immodium, Mylanta/Tums, Tylenol, silvadene cream, normal saline nasal spray, saline eye drops.

A good first aid book is needed if you've never splinted, debrided or generally taken care of wounds before. You can use simple things like sticks, books, spoons, etc to properly splint fractures. You just need to know where to put them.

Superglue for cuts. ONLY use AFTER you've thoroughly cleaned the cut and make sure there's nothing foreign left in it. It will become infected if you leave anything in there.

Betadine, but only use diluted. It will irritate the skin if used too strong and not washed properly.

Hydrogen Peroxide. We (medical community) don't use this anymore since studies have found it can harm healthy tissue.

I prefer ziplock bags and ice over the pop and use ice packs. Just be sure to put something between the ice pack and the skin. That being said, keep some pop and use packs in case you don't have access to ice.

Safety pins to use in case you have to make a sling.

If you don't get the trauma kit with a commercial tourniquet then you should get belts in different sizes to use for tourniquets. A large man's belt is no good for someone's arm just as a child's belt can't be used on a large man's thigh. You can use a lot of things for tourniquets, but be sure to read how to use them properly. If you don't follow the guidelines the person can lose a limb.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. If I think of anything else I'll let y'all know.

He was Covid positive and that's why they released him. Didn't want it spreading in the jail.

On our local Facebook page his family apologized for him (but did NOT make excuses for him) and said he was on drugs and recently tested positive. They urged the victims and anyone who came into contact with him to get tested. Fucking insanity.

I need some data on non smoker and smokers of cigarettes number of infections and deaths.Since I heard that Covid-19 won't infect smokers lungs I keep smoking cigarettes.Last few days I was thinking about giving up smoking but saying this is easier than doing it

I know I posted this thousands of pages ago, but it's worth repeating. Years ago I had a National Geographic Adventure magazine subscription, and one issue was titled "Survival." It had an article that described a study of thousands of crisis situations.......airplane crashes, being lost in the woods, etc., and the number one trait the survivors had was THEY GOT OUT OF DENIAL QUICKLY.

They realized what a bad situation they were in and did not allow denial to take over. I never forgot that lesson.

In summary and based on the available evidence, it seems unlikely that smoking offers some degree of protection from the effects of COVID-19.

Until more definitive evidence emerges, it would seem prudent that current healthcare advice to stop smoking is continued rather than patients relying on a potentially spurious belief that somehow smoking will prevent them from becoming infected with COVID-19.

Yes, survival is hugely based on mindset. A person with fewer resources who focuses on what they have will have a greater chance of survival over a person who has more resources but despairs over their situation or what they don't have.

It’s all about the person’s propensities. The brain damage loosens the ability of the infected to reel themselves in.

Look on Amazon for first aid refills. Most of the kits come with 1000 bandaids and very little else. The refill kits have gauze, eye wash, trauma pads, etc. Then I'd add in some QuikClot or Celox and an Israeli bandage which you can use on yourself (see Nurse Amy video).

Obviously, nothing beats medical training (which I do not have), but if you find yourself in an emergency, having some of these items might make a huge difference.
