They love giving AZ-TX-FL a hard time, and make grand comparisons saying that AZ has more cases per capita than Brazil or Europe, and that these states which opened early were so irresponsible.

But California also has more cases per capita than almost all of Europe, and about the same as Brazil. And they never even fully re-opened.

California has the exact same amount of cases per capita al Belgium, which is the nation with the highest COVID death rate on Earth.

But if you listen to CNN, Cali is sooooo fucking progressive and played it safe... did everything right!!!

There are more factors at play here than re-opening. This bug is gonna find it's way to vulnerable populations, one way or another.

You'd probably do better to have that conversation here. Your thread would be hijacked within moments and you'd never get control of it. Yeah, you could moderate it, but at some point you'll have to sleep and it would be nothing but page after page of, "Keep your face diaper away from me!" and "Only pussies wear masks! 'Merica!"

People could by chance get sane and adjust to the reality that the virus is a serious threat to mostly old people WITH certain co-morbidities.

And after that initial adjustment to sanity, they could get even more sane and decide maybe nobody should wear a mask except maybe old people with certain co-morbidities, and they should wear protective masks (e.g., N95 or greater).

And they then might get even more sane and decide everything should get back to normal except for old people with certain co-morbities.

But that would disrupt the fun of all the malicious people in power "making hay" with this pretend comprehensive threat and would force all the normally insane Americans to to start another deranged movement.

You can also use a sliced garlic clove in a pinch. It also works for BV. Just have to change it out regularly.

I like the trauma kit on the last link. Here's what I suggest having:

I prefer non-stick gauze and medical tape to bandaids. The adhesive on bandaids don't stick as well as medical tape. Also, you can cut the gauze to size or use the large on if needed.

Coban if you can find some. It's great for large bandages and sticks to itself. In a pinch you can also use it as ace bandages.

Neosporin or any antibiotic ointment for the obvious.

Aspirin, Benadryl, Ibuprofen, Pepcid, Immodium, Mylanta/Tums, Tylenol, silvadene cream, normal saline nasal spray, saline eye drops.

A good first aid book is needed if you've never splinted, debrided or generally taken care of wounds before. You can use simple things like sticks, books, spoons, etc to properly splint fractures. You just need to know where to put them.

Superglue for cuts. ONLY use AFTER you've thoroughly cleaned the cut and make sure there's nothing foreign left in it. It will become infected if you leave anything in there.

Betadine, but only use diluted. It will irritate the skin if used too strong and not washed properly.

Hydrogen Peroxide. We (medical community) don't use this anymore since studies have found it can harm healthy tissue.

I prefer ziplock bags and ice over the pop and use ice packs. Just be sure to put something between the ice pack and the skin. That being said, keep some pop and use packs in case you don't have access to ice.

Safety pins to use in case you have to make a sling.

If you don't get the trauma kit with a commercial tourniquet then you should get belts in different sizes to use for tourniquets. A large man's belt is no good for someone's arm just as a child's belt can't be used on a large man's thigh. You can use a lot of things for tourniquets, but be sure to read how to use them properly. If you don't follow the guidelines the person can lose a limb.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. If I think of anything else I'll let y'all know.
