People look at the numbers and say "ohh 10000 positives today and only 100 deaths" "nothing burger". Ah, no, many of those hundred got infected potentially weeks ago (South Africa for example showing +- 12000 daily infections and +- 150 deaths, those deaths are coming from a couple of weeks back when we have +- 1000-2000 positive per day), but either way, all the science and evidence is point to a longer term death, dying of organ failure of some kind _AFTER_ you have been put on the "recovered" list simply becuase you get a negative test.

As I pointed out earlier the fear being generated by the media is not justified. We have made it through the pandemic.

Plotting a chart with deaths per day the x axis and time the Y axis the shape is more or less a parabola and at the rate deaths are decreasing within 2 to 4 weeks they wont be able to scrap any up any more besides the people who simply would have died anyway.

This whole thing was done to bleed off trillions in middle class wealth and it is working like a charm.
Tens of thousands of businesses are defaulting on their obligations and losing their whole business, tens of millions are in danger of or already have lost their homes.

That data is partial, the CDC lags behind in reporting. Notably the southern states are always slow to provide the CDC with death certificates. The lag is upto 8 weeks. So those 500 deaths you cite are out of 26k total deaths reported for said week, which was believable in the 50's.

All that data post 30th of may should be considered incomplete and inconclusive. As a reference ~60k deaths per week is reasonable but there are seasonal variations, it goes up in winter and down in summer.

Upto now ~8.5% of all deaths recorded in the US since Febuary are covid related and a little over 6% of all deaths of people aged <65. ~80k more deaths then we would normally expect not account for decreased mortality due to people just sitting around and not getting into traffic accidents etc.
