And it could spread around the world in a few months potentially. not only that, but with a fast spreading disease even with a very low kill %,who wants to take the risk of catching it? it could shut down the economy. at least on a local level. say u hear that your town has an outbreak,do u then want to go out an catch it? most would avoid shopping trips and diner out at least. The economic consequences could be severely negative in the short term. In the long term the low-income survivors will actually see some benefit as the peasants that survived the plagues in the middle ages benefited from a reduced supply of labor.
