Not sure if this has already been reported yet (or snooped out by GLP) but I went to the World health Organization's website, and I downloaded and read the Corona Flu status reports from the past 3 days.

Interesting to note, the Jan 21 and Jan 22 make no mention of any US response, but yesterday's status report (Jan 23) *did*, and here's some of what it said (page 6 of the PDF listed in the link):

•On 7 January 2020, the US CDC established a 2019-nCoV Incident Management Structure.

Huh, they did that back on Jan 7th? I must have missed that news.


• CDC has developed a rRT-PCR test that can diagnose 2019-nCoV.

There was a 5.0 earthquake with an epicenter slightly north west of Wuhan 30 days ago. The timing of the first cases appearing after a 2 week incubation would correlate almost to the day of that.

My Mom has been in the respiratory ward of a hospital in the Southern USA for a little over 2 weeks now.

She was fine 1 day then hospitalized by the evening of the next day. She was immediately diagnosed with a viral infection and MRSA pneumonia; nearly lost her a couple times. She is pulling through now.

I’m not posting this to say that I think she has Wuhan Coronavirus (can’t imagine how she would have come into contact with anyone who has it) but to say I’ve been at the respiratory ward of a major hospital every day for 2 weeks.

Today was the day that I started to hear doctors and nurses in hushed hall conversations with “Wuhan” “Coronavirus”. “Boy in tennessee” etc. Plus I’ve had to wear protective gear in my Mom’s room due to the MRSA, so today I thought I’d take home a couple of those surgical masks in her room (figured she’s already paid for them). There were over 20 in there last night; there were zero today, so I wasn’t the only one thinking along those lines.

I’ve protected myself as well as I can while at hospital (won’t touch anything, not an elevator button, anything in bathroom, food tray) but I’m starting to get a little paranoid.

I’ll also report if I see or hear anything at the hospital; she’s going to be there through at least beginning of next week.

masks need to be warn and thrown out daily, the virus gets on the mask you touch it, like when you remove it and you just spread it.

Has anyone heard whether the virus has affected any non-Chinese individuals? If not, it could give more credence to the theory that the virus is a designer bio-weapon.

Those PCR kits haven't made it to my hospital yet. I'd wager real money that they haven't made it to many hospitals either.
