I really do feel for them but it’s just a very unfortunate situation.

Rather unfair to throw Branson’s name in the mix but I do understand the frustration is feeling like desperation now.

This chap on the vids seems very pragmatic & fair. However, this is ‘potentially’ a huge global problem & just needs to run it’s course (I won’t be getting the popularity vote today).

I think these poor buggers on this ship should be entitled to a free cruise each year for the next 5 years as a form of compensation, a small gesture but a goodwill gesture if nothing else.

Lots of dynamics in the mix here, the operator having issues with the Japanese authorities, the WHO advisories, not to mention what the ‘international’ situation is regarding maritime when this ship is not docked.

Japan is in panic, the Olympics are only a few months away & in serious jeopardy, I know that seems menial as it’s only sport but we are talking about a fragile economy & entire careers.

My heart goes out to them but it’s simply a case of sitting it out. Keep them well fed, well treated & start sorting some type of compensation for the future, goodness knows who will pay for that.

But as for Mr. Branson, he simply can not get involved in a ‘emergency type evacuation’, even if he did jump through hoops to have it permitted.

To many non mitigable risks at this time, we still don’t know very much about this virus.

If CORVID 19 turns out to be more of a killer than it currently is then can you imagine the implications of a spread as a result of such evacuation. Not to mention the fact the ‘moral’ & ‘ethical’ implications of such a risk.

The question here is really........ “If you were Branson, would YOU?”
