That's a good point. In China, long-term effects can only mean one thing -- that which is affecting the workforce.

It would make perfect sense for China to take such drastic measures if this virus has long-term effects on its workforce. Not so much as outright killing them (the infamous, fake death rate numbers), but in terms of what kind of health condition the "cured" will find themselves in, i.e. will they even able to work EVER AGAIN?

If the "cured" remain (highly) infectious even after being "cured", then CCP can, even at this point, remove all the confirmed cases right out of their workforce numbers...

... and if they've done projections of the actual number of the infected (as opposed to the unrealistically low number of the confirmed), then they must be shitting their pants right now...

... because, they may be looking at the possibility of losing upwards of 80% of their workforce in 2020 alone, and a guaranteed 100% in the long run... because no one will be crazy enough to buy potentially infected goods from 100%-guaranteed-to-be-infected Chinese factories.

It's really the only thing that makes any sense.

CCP doesn't give a shit about Chinese lives... but it does give shit, and shits itself all over, about China's economic (and, thus, military) prospects.
