Regarding the canceling of all elective surgeries, not that I think it's a bad thing, but just so everyone knows what that means... It's not just boob jobs and facelifts that are getting canceled.

My father is in desperate need of a hip replacement, he's in his late 70's and otherwise very healthy. He would have been getting it done sometime in June, due to CoV even before someone else did he made the decision to postpone his pre-op consultation but if he hadn't, it wasn't going to happen as scheduled anyways.

I'm just praying he can make it until the end of the year which is probably the earliest he will be able to get it done now. He can still get around mostly OK, but with lots of pain... fortunately he's a tough old bastard.

It would destroy him mentally if he ended up in a wheelchair... I think I fear seeing that more than CoV. Way more...

Finnish government decides to block Helsinki

The decision was made this Wednesday. For three weeks, the Uusimaa region, where the capital Helsinki is located, will be under a blockade to prevent citizens from leaving the city towards other areas of the country, thus spreading the virus.

The measure was taken after the Finnish government calculated what may be the worst possible scenario in the country in the coming months: between 11,000 and 15,000 hospitalized people, of which between 3,600 and 5,000 may need intensive care.
