Get a pressure canner,propane burner, meat grinder and lots of jars. If the power goes out for long enough and things start to defrost....get busy canning

Already been browsing online, need to get a pressure caner for meat too :) If you have access to wood, build a rocket stove. [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)] I really like the what I think of as “deer covers” they put on their new raised beds. I hadn't watched that one, but just peeked at it. Looks cool. I think our only trouble will be bugs and birds.
