Painful situation.

The Kid is graduating from high school.

However, the graduation is outdoors with 6 foot social distancing.

I told her, "Nope. Not going. Sorry, but that is inadequate. With hundreds of people there, the air will be full of virus".

Don't remember if I disclosed before, but The Kid lives in a separate area, not in the house with The Queen and I.

Really miss The Kid, but she still shops, socializes, and goes to work.

I told her there were two options: she could stay in self-quarantine with The Queen and I or live separated.

The Kid is 18 and can make her own decisions.

I warned her about the potential consequences of her decision.

Really miss having her in the house, but she goes to college in August.

This situation is repeated across the world, but in most cases the parents are sharing risk with the children who are not in quarantine.
