Based on the recent data and with states having been open for a while now...
It's really looking like there may not be a second wave or surge of cases.
Really gets me wondering about the validity of this whole crisis.

Brazil has so far reported 19,485 new COVID-19 and 968 new deaths
Data from four states not out yet
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77841583 I think we only need to look to Brazil to see that the initial outbreak truly was a crisis that warranted unprecedented measures to get under control.
Due to their piss poor testing, numbers from Brazil could easily be 10 times higher than what is reported above.
But the thing is, you give them an inch.. they take a mile. Once we knew we could control the outbreak and things leveled off, it was time to take the planet off of house arrest.
Although it doesn't happen much, in most US states you can be arrested right now for leaving your home if the police officer doesn't like your explanation as to why you're out.
Think about that for a minute. That's been the case for 2.5 months now, and in some states will end up being the case for 4 months.
People subject to arrest at any time if the government doesn't like your explanation. Even if it doesn't happen often, it's not OK for that to be the status quo for anything but the utmost period of emergency... which has long passed.
