Hospitalizations dropping every day in Georgia. I don't know where Gottlieb is getting his data, but this site has been very reliable.Great numbers for a Friday. [ link to www.ajc.com (secure)] Quoting: R. Wordsworth From what I can see, Gottlieb posted the data showing new hospitalizations. Whereas what you posted shows the total hospitalizations which will soon start rising again if the trend of new hospitalizations keeps up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77841583 Even his chart was inconclusive, to my eyes. When it comes down to it, in my opinion current hospitalization levels were due to an initial outbreak that was orders of magnitude higher than reported numbers. With current mitigation measures I feel that hospitalization numbers will drop below that of what you would see from seasonal flu. That's already the case in NYC, which had one of the worst outbreaks in the world. They are actually lower than what they would see from the flu right now. If we can hold at those levels, we can open society and live with the consequences of this bug. Quoting: R. Wordsworth The thing is, while several states are now considered "open" there are still many people who aren't going out in public and doing the things they would normally be doing, visiting the places they would normally go to. Shit, even Atlanta is still under a "stay at home" order and yes that's in a state that is considered re-opened. So yeah. It appears the new hospitalizations are starting to tick up again in state(s) which have only partially re-opened. (They aren't trending down at the very least). That's just pretty awful news because it doesn't look hopeful for being able to keep the covid under control if the re-openings are ramped up. But that's just me. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77841583 The cases in Texas are exploding... but wordy ignores all data that doesn't fit his view. Literally just two days ago he was using worldometer, but when it posted record- high numbers yesterday he called it bullshit.
