40 residents of this Calgary highrise have caught COVID-19 but outbreak's cause remains unknown

Alberta Health Services officially declared an outbreak at The Verve, a condo building in the city's East Village, on June 22, according to a statement from a spokesperson. As of Sunday there were 45 COVID-19 cases — 34 active and 11 recovered. Three people were in hospital as of Thursday.

The outbreak has led to Calgary-Centre being put under a "watch" for its COVID-19 rate by the province.

I've been back to work for a couple of weeks now. Management does not wear masks, the office manager says "I'm over it", and gets pissy when a masker asks a non-masker to keep their distance. It is a small office, and I have no control over people coming into my room. Now is not the best time to job-hunt, but I am about to add some Covid wordage to my resume and put it out there.

There are lots of covid related jobs on freelance sites right now, I’ve picked up loads of writing ones. We have more than average knowledge on it thanks to this thread!

I got pissed at "close talkers" even before all this, but get even more pissed now.

How do they not pick up on the fact that I keep taking a step back???

Oh she's definitely got it. Look at her purchases. All recently baked bread that needs to be consumed almost immediately and probably without thorough heating...the literal worst thing to buy and eat during a pandemic.

I can tell you never were a woman and had to keep men out of your face, lol.

Last week I had to tell the lawn man something who was then at the acceptable 30 feet away. He took a step toward me and automatic muscle memory had my arm up with my palm in his direction so fast he stopped dead in his tracks, grabbed his tee shirt, and covered his mouth and nose with it with equal muscle memory lightning speed.

We both surprised ourselves and laughed.

Even one case is bad. And they know it’s a permanent issue.

Because, while the West sees everyone having bat AIDS as an excellent means of control (a populace that needs you for their daily medicine to survive can be an asset from their perspective), the east sees a sick and needy population as an albatross around their neck.

At my work we have a man back whose wife tested positive. He's had no symptoms but did a two week quarantine.
