caught up.
hospitalization does not mirror cases. a smart state will actually show a decline. they empty the ICU and cut back and elminate elective surgeries.this is by design to open more beds for incoming FUTURE CV patients.
plus going by a parking lot isn't good either.most ppl don't drive themself to the hospital alone.plus specialists are given time off such as ortho,eyes,PT,other therapy,dental,etc.
my quiet area along the PA-NY border has shown an uptick in cases. very low #'s but going up and in several counties.
things learned from thread- virus doesn't shop at walmart and likes to hang at bars and beaches. i have an igloo in AZ for sale. anyone?
Quoting: JAZZz50 So true about the parking lots. We aren't allowing visitors so nobody except employees parking. Yup, we stopped elective surgeries to make room for Covid pts in the ICU's. We've started the surgeries up again about 3 weeks ago and so far so good....well, if you consider our ICU being at capacity and holding pts in PACU and the ER until a bed opens up. That's just the norm for my hospital though. We have room to flex up with pt surge, but we do not have the staff nor the docs to do it. People always screaming more beds, but if there aren't enough medical professionals to take care of the pts, the extra beds don't matter. I really wish people would understand that.
