October is going to be ugly.

And now it has hit our close friends. Not illness, two families who left the testing line and got emails saying positive! That's 4 people never tested who got notified of positive results. It's hot here, 104 today, who wants to wait an hour or two? So you leave and get quarantined for nothing?

I am going to take a leap...they filled out a question based on symptoms. So they are presumed positive.

That’s a standard operating procedure.

It’s the ones walking around that aren’t staying home with symptoms that aren’t helping get this under control.

And as for the daycares.... there’s plenty of cases, it’s just not shared because unfortunately if folks don’t go to essential jobs society grinds down faster.

A while ago, maybe a week, I told you that Poland is not going to avoid what is coming.

The lock-downs will come again, but not before the virus will ravage the world, because most people are in denial, and a lock-down now, or in August or September will be resisted by most.


But not in October.



The pandemic will be SO BAD in October, everywhere, that most people will not only accept another lock-down, but will ASK FOR IT.


And then it will be point of no return.

according to 1 local pol survey, bout half the parents want kids in school.

school plan is a joke. kids in school 2 days a week,2 sets. WED is clean day. rest of week is online. this look like it will work?

I'd be interested in how many parents here or on any other thread, including the hoax threads, you'd find who will say that being separated from their school aged kids is something they'd do.

Keep in mind school has been made virtual already so that practice is already available and a lot of school systems are already saying they'll be virtual until further notice.

How many of you would be interested or willing to be separated from your children for extended periods of time if your local school system said "to keep Covid spread down we think it would be a good idea for your kids to eat, sleep, get educated, etc. in a 'school campus' setting similar to a college for elementary and high school aged children?

u should have asked how many have their kids eat 3 meals a day at school now? i think u will find that # very low compared to the general public.

I don't know what to do, I'm a 60 yo teacher with COPD, asthma and diabetes and qualified by doctors as "highest risk medically". No social distancing in the school, no measures, no tests and we are BANNED from buying our own PPE (you can't buy it unless you're healthcare). I need to pay the bills but the risk is so high. Medical workers have PPE .. I'm so scared I can't sleep.

As an FYI there are about 77 million kids in school in the US.

About 30 million get free or reduced lunch, a number that up until this year had been declining each year for several years.

About half that number, 14 million, get breakfast at school so about 1 in 5 of total enrollment.

I think he is on track with a liberal wet dream, but I don’t think it would fly. Unless the parents couldn’t feed their kids or we end up with more orphans.

Unfortunately both are possible at this point.

As to your other question. If I were planning to send little man to school this year, I would be changing my mind about that.

I really appreciate already being in the homeschooling groove. Because this is not okay. I have friends that are sending their kids back and my heart hurts.

I am sorry. It may be time to negotiate early retirement.

When we had our lockdown, schools were open for children of essential workers only.
Some parents couldnt wait to send their kids back to school when the lock down lifted. It drove them crazy having their kids at home.
