Yes. It is rampant, here in Mississippi. Went from 400 or so cases, per day, to 1200-1500 per day, within a month.

No masks to be seen, until recently.

Girlfriends ex mother in law died last night. 75 years old. Caught it from a worker in the nursing home she was in. Coded twice, then her heart stopped. All alone. No funeral planned. DISEASE FROM HELL!!

Where are you in MS? I'm in central MS and it's running through people like crazy.

Hattiesburg. She was in a nursing home in Magee. Died at Forrest General, last night.

Small world. I grew up in the burg and used to work at FGH. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. How are people doing with masks down there? I saw the mayor has made it mandatory, but was curious if the bars are still kicking.

Most people just blew off wearing masks, until the mayor made it mandatory, about a week ago. Restaurants and bars looked packed, from what I could see. Everybody just wants to have a good time, and go about their business, like they used to do.

My girlfriend and I moved from my house in Petal, to my small farm, March 12. It's between Collins and Prentiss. We have had NO face to face interaction with anyone, since. No indoor shopping. Only Walmart parking lot service in Petal.

I go into town at least once a week, to check on things. People here are idiots. They have NO IDEA.

I have lurked here on GLP for years, and I immediately realized the situation was serious, back in January.

I had already bought this farm, put in a well, bought tractors, generators, etc., back in 2012.

I retired from my business, bought a years worth of food, seed, fertilizer, diesel fuel, chickens, etc, and moved out here to the sticks.

My girlfriend was about to begin nursing at William Carey, this fall. She had been to PRC for one year and Carey last year, for her pre-reqs. She and I decided that now was not the time to do clinicals, so she has changed her major to HIM, with all courses online. She really wants to be an RN, so we hope for the best, but expect the worst.

We know a few people who work in the hospitals. They are exhausted, mentally and physically.

BUT, THEY ARE DEDICATED HEROES!! TRULY!

Thank YOU for your service!
