New Yorkers don’t have much hope that the city will recover from COVID-19 anytime soon

New Yorkers who did not flee the city are hunkering down for the winter.

Almost one-third of New Yorkers (32%) say that recovery in the city will take a year, while 15% believe the economy will recover fully from the COVID-19 pandemic by next March, and nearly half (46%) believe that the city’s recovery is tied to the development of a vaccine, a survey released Thursday found. A smaller percentage (6%) believe the city’s economy will never fully recover.
