identified serious or life-threatening disease or condition, outweigh the known and potential
risks of the product.


There is no adequate, approved, and available alternative to the product for diagnosing,
preventing, or treating the disease or condition.


So as long as it only kills 2 per 10 and not 3 per 10 it would be approved

Their concern is valid.

The EUA, in the US, was based on one study. It appears to have a small goodness if given very early. But otherwise, it’s worthless.

It's not spam just because you disagree. Some of us are happy this is ending. It's OK to disagree, and it's OK to celebrate a great achievement.

The World Health Organization said it has suspended Gilead's remdesivir from its so-called prequalification list, an official list of medicines used as a benchmark for procurement by developing countries, after issuing guidance against its use in hospitalised Covid-19 patients.

"The ... panel found a lack of evidence that remdesivir improved outcomes that matter to patients such as reduced mortality, need for mechanical ventilation, time to clinical improvement, and others," the guideline said.

To put it in other words, a drug with marginal benefits and a high price tag with no observed adverse effects is a decent bet if the cost of keeping someone in a hospital costs about the same or more then the treatment. This math does not add up in poorer countries where these fixed costs tend to be lower. WHO is basically saying that there are better ways to spend the money in a lot of places.

And why i will stay a hermit as long as i can, to see how well they managed it.

The first one was submitted for approval today and will be distributed in December. The second will apply any day now, and it will be ready to start at the end of December.
Then more come online. The trial is over for Pfizer, and it's full speed ahead and I'm as happy the end of this is near.
I am happy to get it first for others to see it works and it's safe. We already have well over 20,000 that received the vaccine with no negative effects.

People just need to stay at home. Plan for a summer Thanksgiving and Christmas on the 4th of July.
