I was wearing a properly fit-tested P100 (OSHA-trained on respirator fit testing).

He was the same as me, his mask was on and off depending on when he was taking a drink.

Exposure would have been this past Tuesday or Wednesday.

FUCK. ME.

Just got notified that I was exposed to Covid by a police officer. He has tested positive and is symptomatic (lost his sense of taste last night, headaches, fatigue, sinus pressure).

He and I were hanging out together at a local gas station Tuesday morning. I had my mask on most of the time, but did take it off a few times to drink a soda.

So I will be getting tested for Covid on Monday. Testing stations are so overwhelmed in Indiana we're going to have to drive an hour from home to get one that soon.

At this point I have no symptoms. Hope I don't have to change the status under my handle. I've been so proud of that.

This is going to SUCK.

So even if six months....now.... if it keeps having enough vectors, it’s not going to remain so.....

Well, at least we agree on Vitamin D3. In retrospect with hindsight (always handy), the mostly worldwide lock-down may have been overkill. However, we saw China's reaction and we did not know what we were dealing with at all! Now, at least we know a little bit about this Virus, and have a more measured approach. I do disagree strongly that this is just "a bad flu". I personally know of healthy men in their 30's, 40's, and 50's with no co-morbidities, die of this disease. The one common factor was they ignored it, trying to keep working until they could not breath, and then it was too late. In Mexico, where the health system has virtually collapsed, the death rate among people who catch the virus, is 9.7%! Think about that. The US is a completely different, but from a UK point of view, I am going to go against the general school of thought with many regulars on this thread, I'm not saying I'm right or the posters here are wrong. I feel some encouragement with so many scientific companies announcing success with vaccines, I know we are in early days, but I think we are on the right track.

I truly believe we will over come this virus, yes there will be some tough days ahead, but I really don't see this virus as a end of civilisation event.

The economy is not DOA, it's going to take years to get back on track, but it will slowly grow over the coming years.

I see every day folk who are unwell with this virus in my line of work, the sick children and mentally disabled are particularly hard to witness, but life goes on, we go on, we have to keep going, that's the only way to move forward.

Not arguing with anyone, just my current take on the situation.
