i believe we have the answere to what saved the US from the virus thus far-

viruses mutate. in our case the original strain that came to the US was a muated version. it had spread thru Europe and other countries and kept mutating. it was less severe and deadly than the WUHAN original in CHINA. hence, the version in the US caused less sickness and death compared to ITALY and CHINA. it also was less contagious. compromised ppl did get sick,many severly. many healthy ppl have been skipped over by THIS version. so in a sence the US got lucky compared to other nations,for lack of a better way to put it.

the lower-grade version that came to the US mutated down to b less severe and less dangerous. thus most healthy ppl could fight it off.

however, BRAZIL and other nations saw a version that was closer to the version from WUHAN and do have major outbreaks with higher death rates. with out borders open,we will see those variants spread more soon. there are several of those variants already in both PA and NYS.

worst case with this virus would b getting multiple variants. you might fight off the 1 but would b weaker to handle the next.also this virus damges internal organs and can do that slowly to even healthy ppl.

least this explains why in the US the virus did not become a wildfire like it did in other countries. this side of the US got a lower-grade mutation of the WUHAN virus and it continued to muate down to b less dangerous. the next version or wave will b considerably worse.

this not only explains what occured in the US but also how it walked over the EU and rest of the nations. some areas did see a variant that was closer to the original from WUHAN. those areas had a higher death and infection rate.

the problem the world faces is this virus can and in some areas has mutated to a mnore dangerous version as well as it did to a lower-grade version. a higher grade variant will spread out of control like a wild fire.
