Do you have any idea how rare popcorn lung is? Just to give you some perspective, here's an article from late 2019 about the FIRST case in Canadian history. There are almost a million daily vapers in Canada, incidentally.

Your second point, about brain development, is a valid one, although an 18-year-old, I would say, is plenty mature to make such decisions for himself, but you take MUCH more risk with your life just leaving the house and driving to work than you do vaping. Everything we do is risky. The original idea behind vaping was to minimize the risk of smoking, a task it accomplishes in grand style, not eliminate risk altogether, and those who take a puritanical view towards it seem to have lost sight of that and replaced smoking with vaping as their target now. To your credit, you make it clear you aren't trying to control the OP here, but for many anti-vapers, that's exactly what they're trying to do. They see that smokers found a loophole around their anti-smoking agenda and they seek to close it.

Your grand kids will get a kick out of your popcorn lung voice...if you live that long.
