You can start to hear sirens at 1:45:00, & then it starts.

The guy shouldn't have gotten bent out of shape over it. I know it sucks but these things happen & the police have to do their job. And like the other poster said, yeah be mindful of your dogs. Gunning down pets has become a major problem in these situations. To me, that's the biggest outrage of all. I worked at a veterinary hospital many years ago & was bitten dozens of times ~ a minor inconvenience 99% of the time. The more dangerous breeds had their snouts secured to prevent biting, but still.

That's a bullshit answer.

Their "job" is to serve and protect. Their pensions are paid for by the taxpayer. To storm a house and kill anyone is a unreasonable search and seizure based on a anon phone call. Illigal on the face of it and detrimental to the rule of law. They are not above it.

Yes, I'm one of the most ardent supporters of the Constitution you'll ever meet. However, the police are charged with the responsibility of protecting the citizenry. When they receive a call claiming someone was murdered with a shotgun, it's their job ro investigate. Yes, your rights are being violated - but not by them. The blame is at the feet of the prankster calling in the fake police report.

This is common sense imo. If it happened to me, I'd be aggravated too but I'd recognize the responsibility the police officers have & cooperate fully to help resolve things quickly.

That's a bullshit answer. an anonymous source claiming a murder with nobody should require some scrutiny. Whoever signed a warrant based on nothing should be in jail. They could go knock on the door.....or call the guy an the fucking phone. kicking in a door in America should be a last resort. That's the problem when there are no Andy Griffiths and all swat teams. I think If that happened to me... (I would pray that I was up and awake and sober at the time)... after I calmly assured the police that everything and everyone in the house was fine. I would immediately demand to speak to an attorney before I consented to a search of my home. Do not consent!!! Make damn sure everyone knows that you are not consenting to a search of your house!!!
If the cops wanted to have a conversation about the situation. I would ask them this question... “ If someone calls you and says that I have a pile of dead babies in my kitchen, and even though there have been no reports of missing babies on my street, or neighborhood, or town even, are you going to come here looking for a pile of dead babies?”

If you refuse to consent to a search AND Plainly state that you wish to have an attorney present... then you can sue the idiots... and you will win.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76279814

short response, it was a very serious situation too!
Guns drawn!

(I think it was in response to Carey stopping and filming a scammer...that scammer tried to get even! )

copy//"For those saying Carey over-reacted...Thing is, Carey's not an officer, he's a guy making a video and then the cops show up, he's understandably frustrated that he just got hacked multiple times and is now being swatted. You can't know how you'd react until you experience that situation. Unless he physically threatened an officer, it should make no difference in their response to him.

The fact is, the cops are supposed to be trained and able to handle this situation. Standing there arguing with a guy that may or may not be armed and may or may not have just killed someone sounds like the most shitty protocol I've ever heard. He should have been patted down for weapons and/or cuffed, and once it was established that he was not armed and hiding a dead body, an "I'm sorry this happened" and a conversation about whether or not he might know who made the 9-1-1 call, or if he knew of anyone out to get him should have happened.

At that point he became a victim, and these cops continued to treat him as a suspect. Individuals are not trained how to feel or respond when an entire police force shows up with guns drawn, the cops certainly should be trained in how to DEESCALATE, not perpetuate an argument, and if not, they shouldn't be allowed on these calls until they are." Jen Ellis, viewer, former 911 dispatcher.

Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say.

The police justified placing me and my loved ones in an extremely stressful and potentially dangerous situation just to be sure we were 'safe.'

even tho this was many months ago, it was caught on mic and video, and I think that may be one of the only things that was a savings grace..

I feel sorry that the police think it is their right to slam into any person's house and believe they were a criminal - can see why many will confiscate guns from the public, just cause, "that's how they roll!" that they love to cause fear and show dominance IMO, getting a kick out of it as well! Sure does not take so many cop cars and a chopper to handle a situation like that, grrrr

Pple put thousands into their pets, hours of time for training and gain a close relationship. To have a nut case kill it because "they can?" sorry, you are out of line..
maybe the cops were trying to vindicate their presence there- if you watched it, they were the one arguing to the homeowner, and drew their guns.

Sure, first reaction is to sue, seems he instead, wants to have his police dept get the procedure down right, so no one else has to go thru this is his aim instead.

Re: Tech man swatted on live stream, this is what a police state looks like? 15 cop cars+ helicopter .....
Law enforcement is actually trained nowadays to kill pets, not just out of concerns for safety, but as a way of establishing dominance and intimidation of the homeowner.

Sounds to me like it’s time to start swapping fucking bullshit cops like these.

See how they fucking like it.

You can't. They know who each other are and won't swat each other. If you try, they'll look up the name or address in their computer, find out it's a cop and laugh, then trace your phone and raid you.
