Tech man was detailing how to do the window's upgrade... Quoting: savcash go to the 1:30 mark and you can hear/then see the police storm his house. All because of an anon phone call saying he had a gun and shot somebody! [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] They should make calling in a swatting prank punishable by death. Because the stupid act of calling in a swat could end up getting someone killed by trigger-happy cops. |

Sounds to me like it’s time to start swapping fucking bullshit cops like these. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77148692 See how they fucking like it. You can't. They know who each other are and won't swat each other. If you try, they'll look up the name or address in their computer, find out it's a cop and laugh, then trace your phone and raid you. So by your logic they can trace the phone of the person making the initial call. Somehow I get the feeling that's not being dpone. |

People who do this to others as a joke or for a petty grudge need to be arrested and serve time and be sued for all they have. You can start to hear sirens at 1:45:00, & then it starts. Quoting: XeroGravity The guy shouldn't have gotten bent out of shape over it. I know it sucks but these things happen & the police have to do their job. And like the other poster said, yeah be mindful of your dogs. Gunning down pets has become a major problem in these situations. To me, that's the biggest outrage of all. I worked at a veterinary hospital many years ago & was bitten dozens of times ~ a minor inconvenience 99% of the time. The more dangerous breeds had their snouts secured to prevent biting, but still. That's a bullshit answer. Their "job" is to serve and protect. Their pensions are paid for by the taxpayer. To storm a house and kill anyone is a unreasonable search and seizure based on a anon phone call. Illigal on the face of it and detrimental to the rule of law. They are not above it. The Constitution and its Amendments in now a paper tiger and ignorant people like you are the problem. ^This Do you even Constitution, bro? Yes, I'm one of the most ardent supporters of the Constitution you'll ever meet. However, the police are charged with the responsibility of protecting the citizenry. When they receive a call claiming someone was murdered with a shotgun, it's their job ro investigate. Yes, your rights are being violated - but not by them. The blame is at the feet of the prankster calling in the fake police report. This is common sense imo. If it happened to me, I'd be aggravated too but I'd recognize the responsibility the police officers have & cooperate fully to help resolve things quickly. Investigating a call is not breaking down your door with a swat team. I don’t suffer fools or shills lightly... Don’t gaslight me, bro. |

Give cops the OK to play with their expensive toys and they will eagerly and gladly respond in just this way every time. Hopefully the number of pets meeting the minimal criteria of being in some way a danger will be low. Afterwards they will spew the same rationale that we've seen in this thread a dozen times. (i guess because i only read a few) The "ANSWER" is for a given area to be deluged with fake calls from vpn's. Cops don't like being punked and will adjust policy accordingly. Swatting is real i realize that but i prefer a dangerous freedom to tyranny and the erosion of my 4th amendment rights. A warrant or a firefight are the suitable options for entering an American citizens home without their consent. |

Let's hope they were stupid enough to not use a disposable line that had never called any of their acquaintances. It does make one wonder if the cops are so monumentally stupid as to swat someone when a complaint was made via blocked or masked number. They should have the machinery to know if it's a spoof right away. |
