There really is no do it yourself cure other than ride it out.Things you can try.

Hot Showers before bed.
Ibuprofen to reduce nasal swelling.
Off the shelf nasal decongestants.
Sleep with your head elevated not flat on a pillow.


DO NOT use neti pots for a sinus infection you could make it worse.

Get some nasal saline and rinse out your sinuses while taking a hot shower.

You start with a bulb of raw garlic Put 1 cup of water in a pot & turn on medium heat. Add a clove of chopped raw garlic...chop a 2nd clove & add it to the hot water...turn off heat & add a 3rd clove.

Let water cool and snort a few drops of garlic water up each nostril (try not to have any pieces of garlic in the water).

Some say just crush the garlic & use the liquid...that would probably burn you. Better to extract the liquid with hot water.

i cannot even begin to express how relatable this is for me.

i was told my wisdom teeth would come in fine, they didn't. Instead the are now impacted and had exploded due to pressure from other teeth pushing against them.

Get an antibotic like amoxicillin and try that. Take a single 500mg, if it has no effect than it isn't an infection. If it does work, take better care of your mouth and practice better hygiene.

I've had chronic sinusitis for over 30 years, a Dr told me about the Neti Bottle about 10 years ago. After using it for a week straight the first time, I was clear for nearly a year. Now about 1 or 2 times a year I may need to use it for a few days. But it's the only thing I've ever found that comes close to working.
Make up the saline solution according to pack in some "cool to Luke warm" water. Once you run out of the salt packets that come with it, you can use table salt and a pinch of baking soda.
And squeeze it gently the first few times till you get the hang of it,if you squeeze too much too fast it can hurt.
First time I used one I freaked the fuck out when I saw all the shit that was up there inside of my head come out!

buy a bottle of Dristan nasal spray. Do not spray it into nose. Put your head way back, like letting your head hang over the side of the bed while lying on your back.

POUR a good shot of Dristan into the nose, letting it flow into the sinuses. Do both nostrils, keep your head back a minute then sit up. Now some steam, or a hot shower spraying on your face, as the sinuses open up and drain.

Drink lots of fluids, hot teas are great.

A lot of infections are caused by stifling sneezes. It forced debris up into the narrow sinuses and they block drainage and allow an infection to grow. So sneeze through an open mouth you cover of course, not through your nose and do not try to stop the sneeze.
