Over the weekend, Mr. Cuomo deployed a 77-person team from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to assist the island’s airport and ports, and 53 state police officers to help with security and rescue operations.

The state previously sent 60 National Guard soldiers and was preparing to send 245 military personnel to aid local law enforcement, help with debris removal and set up donation drop-off locations throughout the U.S. territory, according to Mr. Cuomo’s office.

A total of 147 city workers have traveled to the island on the city’s behalf, including 30 members of the fire department and police department to help with search and rescue missions.

Supply people always make sure they keep extra stuff stashed for themselves.

During desert Storm our battallion supply NCOIC got relieved for doing just this, stashing needed supplies (soap, shampoo, shaving gear, etc.) 600-peoples worth. When discovered he was busted down and supply had to lay out everything they had so the troops could take what they needed.

You have no idea what you are talking about. My wife and I lived there for a couple of years. Those people are kind and decent people. Their Government is ran by the Cartel and the people are powerless. The worst part is the Jones act and what we purposely did to them as an island nation.

We knew this when it happened i posted it on my fb it was in the msm. Over 5,000 people died as a result. I made a map showing how to stage relief. The island is 180 miles by 35 miles wide. U stage barges and use jet skis to deliver supplies to all 180 cities. It was SO EASY to bring aid it was sick they did not.

110 x 30 miles not rocket science to distribute supplies. Use helicopters to drop water food and phone charges u could hit all 180 cities over night if u ised the military. They WANTED the carnage.

Remember Trump said there was a "big ocean" that was WHY he could not do what i just said. I knew then it was complete bullshit. WE did the ops for Hurricane harvey 911 was jammed.

That is why NOBODY helped puerto rico. There was NO cajun navy prior to harvey they sabotaged us and took the credit. I have said tgis all along. Trump endorsed the corrupt red cross melania wore her i don't care do u jacket. The Red cross director of TX had to resign it was SO BAD the streets were running the rescue ops ALL volunteers w NO training we saved over 2500 people.

We can't get our trucks and boats to puerto rico but the goc SURE THE HELL could've did for them what the Heroes did for Texas.

The correct response would have been i have the u.s. air force dropping supplies around the clock in all 180 cities. We have carnival cruises which dock daily in Peurto Rico all headed to the island to host the pueryo ricans while we create jobs and fix everything. We have marines bringing in more supplies daily. We gave boots on the ground routing the supplies to the inner cities. We got this!

They sent THOUSANDS of reefers with perishable food.

Rather than distribute the food, the reefers ran for about two weeks, ran out of fuel, and the food spoiled.
