They have a new pilot program for seniors in adult care facilities.
After they check that the senior has no funds they are now going after the adult children for their parents hyper inflated healthcare costs.

I said this on the other thread, but I have mixed feelings about Prop 13. While I agree there should be upper limits on property tax increases, it's also true that the current limit is well under the rate of house price increases.

So the result is that the young are paying a vastly disproportionate share of the property taxes. I have older coworkers who surely make much more money than I do, live in a nicer house in a better neighborhood with better schools, but just because they bought their house 30 years ago I'm paying many times more in property taxes than they do. It's a total screwjob for the younger generations.
