If this is true it would indicate CNN may be complicit.

Hopefully POTUS has something really good up his sleeve to convert this to a Win Win Win Win Win and a Win for the right God gave the people to bear arms.

POTUS should admit he has recently learned that this could very well be a Federal issue not a State issue and ask for a freeze on the application of the anti 2nd amendment Laws movement.
Untill the Supreme Court can deliberate and complete an interpretation and final ruling on the Right to bear arms on a Federal Level.
This would take time for a release of a ruling till after the next election.

This would be Great PR.
