According to her mum's Facebook update this is being misreported.

The FBI just warned them to take time out and get a rep because of all the renewed interest from the podcast.

Looks like the FBI didn't release this shit. They told the mother, and then that idiot leaked it.

The FBI is trying to flush out the one and only suspect — Paul Flores.

I bet the FBI & the Smart family coordinated a plan — Mrs. Smart purposefully released this publicly and the FBI are now monitoring Flores’ phone calls, bank transactions, and movements to look for incriminating evidence resulting from Flores panicking, thinking his arrest is imminent.

Not a bad idea, especially considering how badly the case was botched and it’s been over 23 years since Smart’s disappearance.

You can't kill off half of the world as much as you might want to.

You must sympathize with and totally relate to this Paul Flores character.

There’s only one story: Paul Flores.

What are the odds that two girls with the last name Smart, (who are not related or connected) being kidnapped.

Everyone knows who did it. Paul Flores.

But Kristin Smart’s body has not been found.

Reading about the case from beginning to end reveals such a magnitude of ineptitude by local law enforcement that one can’t help but wonder if the Flores family is somehow protected.

It also reeks of a popular university seeking to avoid bad publicity (and in doing so, actually created worse publicity for itself).

Police interviewed students who were playing basketball with Flores that day and they said he had the black eye already before he played. After he realized witnesses told investigators he had the black eye BEFORE playing basketball, he changed his story and said he got the black eye by hitting his eye on his truck’s steering wheel while installing a stereo in it.

Regarding the cadaver dogs, that’s true. However... (shaking my head here)...the university cleaned Flores’ dorm room BEFORE the search of Flores’ dorm room. So while a dog’s nose can still pick up the scent of death, an investigator would find “no physical evidence” as indeed was the case.

Again, the ineptitude is so astounding, it reeks of a coverup.

Lotta issues with local law enforcement in the area...

Police chief mistakenly leaves her gun in the restroom of El Pollo Loco. Someone takes it. In the process of trying to recover it, police raid the WRONG home WITHOUT a warrant and find two young girls living in conditions that they deem worthy of Child Protective Services. Long story short, the police chief’s gun was recovered. The punishment? She docked herself two days’ pay. Lol

Inmates in the local county jail die at a higher rate than elsewhere; by suicide and, recently, a mentally challenged man was tied to a chair for 36 hours. He died.

A local police officer shot and killed a dog in a resident’s driveway after a 911 call reported a possible break-in. It was at noon and the residence was less than 50 yards from the police station. Turns out the tenants were merely replacing a window; thus they were climbing in & out of the window. One officer drew his gun on the dog, while the other did not. Said officer shot 3 times in a dense living area (narrow driveway with residences on the side). First shot went through the dog’s scrotum. The dog turned and ran. Officer shot it a second time in the back, severing its aorta. Then a third shot missed and ricocheted (could’ve injured or killed anyone in the vicinity). Long story short: dog died. Police won’t release the officer’s body cam footage.

Twenty years back, after the Smart girl disappearance, two girls from another local college went missing a few months apart. Local law enforcement had no leads (no clue). By happenstance, a parole officer from out of town visiting a parolee on a routine check noticed a girl’s backpack in the parolee’s house (no family or daughter). He left, then called the police. Bodies of the two college girls were dug up in the parolee’s yard. He was arrested and sits on death row.
