In re: the CDC update about only 6% of people dying from "COVID alone" as listed on death certificate.

Statistically accurate. But, medically misleading. 60% of adults in the US have one chronic medical condition. 40% have 2 or more chronic medical conditions. ( [link to www.cdc.gov (secure)] So, medically speaking, if COVID is a contributing factor to someone dying, it's listed. If someone has COPD from smoking, but gets COVID and dies, then both are listed. If someone has controlled diabetes, gets COVID and dies, then both are listed because COVID caused the death. The 6% that has people ejaculating all over themselves because they think it proves some grand conspiracy, are healthy adults, no underlying medical conditions.

60% of adults in US is 126,000,000, with chronic underlying medical conditions.

6% of healthy adults is 12,600,000

VIRAL LOAD Coronavirus can cause men’s testicles to swell up – and leave them infertile

Medics in the US are warning that Covid-19 could cause the bizarre side-effect after treating a previously healthy 37-year-old man.

The doctors, from the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in Texas, said the patient went to A&E with swelling and discomfort in his scrotum.

He had been suffering with some of the main coronavirus symptoms, such as a dry cough, fatigue and fever, for 10 days before he went to hospital.

His testicular pain had developed around three days earlier, he told doctors.

Ace 2 receptors in testicles.
also there was an outbreak at a certain hotel way back when through the ac ducts of legionnaires disease which consequently has the exact same symptoms pneumonia chills fever diarrhea including bacterial type spread vs viral. spread through water droplets. Wonder why we had such a rainy time before this shit jumped off

The Contagion Externality of a Superspreading Event: The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and COVID-19

Abstract

Large in-person gatherings without social distancing and with individuals who have traveled outside the local area are classified as the “highest risk” for COVID-19 spread by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Between August 7 and August 16, 2020, nearly 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts converged on Sturgis, South Dakota for its annual motorcycle rally. Large crowds, coupled with minimal mask-wearing and social distancing by attendees, raised concerns that this event could serve as a COVID-19 “super-spreader.” This study is the first to explore the impact of this event on social distancing and the spread of COVID-19. First, using anonymized cell phone data from SafeGraph, Inc. we document that (i) smartphone pings from non-residents, and (ii) foot traffic at restaurants and bars, retail establishments, entertainment venues, hotels and campgrounds each rose substantially in the census block groups hosting Sturgis rally events. Stay-at-home behavior among local residents, as measured by median hours spent at home, fell. Second, using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and a synthetic control approach, we show that by September 2, a month following the onset of the Rally, COVID-19 cases increased by approximately 6 to 7 cases per 1,000 population in its home county of Meade. Finally, difference-in-differences (dose response) estimates show that following the Sturgis event, counties that contributed the highest inflows of rally attendees experienced a 7.0 to 12.5 percent increase in COVID-19 cases relative to counties that did not contribute inflows. Descriptive evidence suggests these effects may be muted in states with stricter mitigation policies (i.e., restrictions on bar/restaurant openings, mask-wearing mandates). We conclude that the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally generated public health costs of approximately $ 12.2 billion.

[snip]

Adding the number of new cases due to the Rally in South Dakota estimated by synthetic control (3.6 per 1,000 population, scaled by the South Dakota population of approximately 858,000) brings the total number of cases to 266,796 or 19 percent of 1.4 million new cases of COVID-19 in the United States between August 2nd 2020 and September 2nd 2020.If we conservatively assume that all of these cases were non-fatal, then these casesrepresent a cost of over $12.2 billion, based on the statistical cost of a COVID-19 case of $46,000 estimated by Kniesner and Sullivan (2020). This is enough to have paid each of the estimated 462,182 rally attendees $26,553.64 not to attend.

Lots of THEORY here. No analysis of WHAT ELSE was going on in the county that showed an increase in cases. For example, how many more tests were done during that time frame, were they being done for students returning to school, playing sports, or other requirements like nursing homes?

There is a relationship between HHV-6 and Covid.

The vast majority of you have HHV-6. Chicken pox, shingles, cold sores are versions of the herpes virus.

More people have latent HHV-6 than have had chicken pox. Think about this.

"HHV-6B primary infection is the cause of the common childhood illness exanthema subitum (also known as roseola infantum or sixth disease). It is passed on from child to child. It is uncommon for adults to contract this disease as most everyone has had it by kindergarten, and once contracted, an antibody is formed help to prevent becoming reinfected in the future. Additionally, HHV-6B reactivation is common in transplant recipients, which can cause several clinical manifestations such as encephalitis, bone marrow suppression, and pneumonitis.”

A variety of tests are used in the detection HHV-6, some of which do not differentiate the two species

This is perhaps the most significant development in research related to this. Most of you idiots will not look into it further or understand it.

And it is likely it will be covered up by the authorities.

Research HHV-6 and the relationship to AIDS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, MS, etc, etc, etc, etc..

Research Anthony Fauci’s relationship to the cover up associated with this…specific to the AIDS ponzi scheme. Charles Ortleb wrote a book about this.

Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) was the sixth herpesvirus discovered. Isolated in 1986 during attempts to find novel viruses in patients with lymphoproliferative diseases, HHV-6 is now recognized as a T-cell lymphotropic virus with high affinity for CD4 lymphocytes.

A beta herpesvirus (like cytomegalovirus [CMV] and human herpesvirus 7 [HHV-7]), HHV-6 comprises 2 forms, A and B; as of 2012, HHV-6A and HHV-6B are officially considered distinct species rather than variants of 1 species.

HHV-6B causes the childhood illness roseola infantum, whereas HHV-6A has been isolated mainly in immunocompromised hosts

The COVID-19 symptoms presenting are almost identical to known presentations associated with HHV-6.

The immunological deficiency presents dramatically in those infected with HHV-6. Very similar to AIDS.

Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) is a set of two closely related herpes viruses known as HHV-6A and HHV-6B. HHV-6B infects nearly 100% of human beings, typically before the age of three and often results in fever, diarrhea, sometimes with a rash known as roseola. Although rare, this initial infection HHV-6B infection can also cause febrile seizures, encephalitis or intractable seizures. Little is known about the prevalence of HHV-6A or how it is acquired, but one small study found very low levels of HHV-6A in the saliva of half of healthy adults.

Like the other herpesviruses—Epstein Barr virus, chicken pox, herpes simplex—HHV-6 establishes life-long latency and can become reactivated later in life. This reactivation has been associated with many clinical manifestations that can be seen in the “Associated Conditions” section of this site. Reactivation can occur in the brain, lungs, heart, kidney and gastrointestinal tract, especially in patients with immune deficiencies and transplant patients. In some cases, HHV-6 reactivation in the brain tissue can cause cognitive dysfunction, permanent disability and death. Except in acute or initial infections, the viral DNA can typically be found only by biopsy, as it does not circulate in peripheral blood.

A growing number of studies also suggest that HHV-6 may play a role in a subset of patients with chronic conditions. HHV-6A has recently been found in the uterus of women with infertility, in the thyroid tissue of patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and has been suggested as a trigger for a subset of MS and chronic fatigue syndrome cases. High levels of HHV-6B DNA in the brain biopsies of refractory epilepsy patients suggest the virus may play a role in a subset of those with this condition. HHV-6 has also been tied to febrile seizures and status epilepticus. There is an urgent need for new technologies to detect these occult infections that are not apparent by standard quantitative PCR DNA testing methods, in order to prove or disprove the important disease associations that have been suggested.

1 volunteer in the UK has been diagnosed with transverse myelitis, an inflammatory syndrome affecting the spinal cord which is often sparked by viral infections. It's still unknown if the person's condition is directly linked to the vaccine - NYT

[link to www.mayoclinic.org (secure)]

Transverse myelitis interrupts the messages that the spinal cord nerves send throughout the body. This can cause pain, muscle weakness, paralysis, sensory problems, or bladder and bowel dysfunction.

There are many different causes of transverse myelitis, including infections and immune system disorders that attack the body's tissues. It could also be caused by other myelin disorders, such as multiple sclerosis. Other conditions, such as a stroke of the spinal cord, are often confused with transverse myelitis, and these conditions require different treatment approaches.

Treatment for transverse myelitis includes medications and rehabilitative therapy. Most people with transverse myelitis recover at least partially. Those with severe attacks sometimes are left with major disabilities.

Infectious coronavirus found on salmon for up to a week, study suggests

While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration have said there’s no evidence of contracting the coronavirus from food or its packaging, a new study suggests salmon could potentially carry traces of COVID-19.

A new study from Chinese researchers suggests that traces of COVID-19 on salmon were detected and could be infectious for more than a week.

Scientists from South China Agricultural University and Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Guangzhou collected virus samples from salmon and noted it could survive up to eight days at 39 degrees Fahrenheit. The report, released last week, is still awaiting peer review and publication.

ABSTRACT

Several outbreaks of COVID-19 were associated with seafood markets, raising concerns that 22fish-attached SARS-CoV-2 may exhibit prolonged survival in low-temperature environments. Here we showed that salmon-attached SARS-CoV-2 at 4oC could remain infectious for more than one week, suggesting that fish-attached SARS-CoV-2 may be a source of transmission.

[snip]

In conclusion, fish-attached SARS-CoV-2 can survive for more than one week at 4°C, the temperature of refrigerators, cold rooms, or transport carriers for storage of fish before selling in the fish or seafood market.

Severity of coronavirus infection may be determined by face mask use, study suggests

Facemasks may limit the severity of coronavirus cases, University of California San Francisco researchers said in a paper published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine.

Although face coverings are more effective in preventing droplets from being expelled into the air than they are in preventing droplets from being breathed in, masks still may be able to mitigate how severe an illness an individual gets if infected by COVID-19, researchers explained in the release.

A Texas scientist predicts a second wave of coronavirus will occur in the spring and not the winter months.

Professor Ben Neuman, chairman of biological sciences at Texas A&M University-Texarkana said coronaviruses commonly “peak” in the spring months, according to a Yahoo report.

Neuman, also a visiting associate professor at the University of Reading, said experts are predicting the second wave for the winter months based on the flu virus which peaks in the winter. But Neuman said most viruses are not as seasonal as the influenza virus, according to the report.

Comment: I don't think seasonality as much to do with it, as much as reopening schools and businesses.

Community and Close Contact Exposures Associated with COVID-19 Among Symptomatic Adults ≥18 Years in 11 Outpatient Health Care Facilities — United States, July 2020

What is added by this report?

Findings from a case-control investigation of symptomatic outpatients from 11 U.S. health care facilities found that close contact with persons with known COVID-19 or going to locations that offer on-site eating and drinking options were associated with COVID-19 positivity. Adults with positive SARS-CoV-2 test results were approximately twice as likely to have reported dining at a restaurant than were those with negative SARS-CoV-2 test results.

Restaurants and bars are risky.

I suspect that schools will be added to that list soon enough.

Fauci warns US needs to 'hunker down' for fall, winter: 'It's not going to be easy'

Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious diseases expert, warned Thursday that the U.S. should prepare for a difficult few months in the fight against COVID-19 as flu season approaches.

“We need to hunker down and get through this fall and winter because it’s not going to be easy,” Fauci said during a panel discussion with doctors from Harvard Medical School.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases went on to warn against underestimating the pandemic’s potential to cause continued destruction.

Neuroinvasion of SARS-CoV-2 in human and mouse brain

Abstract

Although COVID-19 is considered to be primarily a respiratory disease, SARS-CoV-2 affects multiple organ systems including the central nervous system (CNS). Yet, there is no consensus whether the virus can infect the brain, or what the consequences of CNS infection are. Here, we used three independent approaches to probe the capacity of SARS-CoV-2 to infect the brain. First, using human brain organoids, we observed clear evidence of infection with accompanying metabolic changes in the infected and neighboring neurons. However, no evidence for the type I interferon responses was detected. We demonstrate that neuronal infection can be prevented either by blocking ACE2 with antibodies or by administering cerebrospinal fluid from a COVID-19 patient. Second, using mice overexpressing human ACE2, we demonstrate in vivo that SARS-CoV-2 neuroinvasion, but not respiratory infection, is associated with mortality. Finally, in brain autopsy from patients who died of COVID-19, we detect SARS-CoV-2 in the cortical neurons, and note pathologic features associated with infection with minimal immune cell infiltrates. These results provide evidence for the neuroinvasive capacity of SARS-CoV2, and an unexpected consequence of direct infection of neurons by SARS-CoV-2.
