Over 2,500 people who recently entered Ho Chi Minh City from areas with confirmed cases of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were under home quarantine as of Wednesday, according to the municipal health department.
A total of 2,588 people have been monitored for the disease after going through immigration in the southern metropolis since the epidemic began, the department said Thursday.
Among them, 2,521 cases remained under home quarantine on Wednesday.
Thirty other people were being isolated in designated areas, while the remaining 37 cases had been released from isolation as of 8:00 pm Wednesday.

So far, Ho Chi Minh City has confirmed three COVID-19 infections as 29 other cases have tested negative for the novel coronavirus. One patient was waiting for their test result on Wednesday evening, the health department said.
