Except the mortality rate is not 2%. Total Deaths:1,383 Total Recovered: 7,080 mortality rate = 1,383/(1,383 + 7,080) * 100 = 16.34 % [ link to gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com (secure)] I realy dont know why people are dividing by confirmed cases .. those are unresolved cases ..still sick ..no outcome yet. they will resolve to dead or cured. dead / ( dead + cured ) = the mortality rate. i.e. dead / resolved cases. So if 60% are to get infected 40% will not.
So if 2% mortality of infected, then total 1.2% of humanity will die.
That’s about the number that die each year anyway, isn’t it?
Will be a “double down” year for a year or so.
Not terribly alarming when viewed in that light.
