SerpentZa on Youtube did a vid a week or so ago about the fact that Chinese people get pissed off and punch or even stab to death doctors pretty often over there. (His wife is a doctor, so he's well aware of the issues they face there.) The vid in that tweet - due to the lack of masks AND because there is one Chinese person sitting on the floor AND a doc that may have just taken a punch and is down - makes me think that the vid is, in fact, UNRELATED to the virus but IS a vid of a pissed off Chinese dude who just punched a doc. |

Also, more travel to formerly remote locations where in the past the diseases died after running out of new people to infect. |

We can't really know for sure bc of communications issues--there could have been horrible outbreaks of flu in China in the 50s and 60s and NO ONE would have known about it because of the backwardness of the country back then and the iron-tight grip the Communist Party had on everything. I believe there were at least two rounds of flu back then that went worldwide and got lots of attention. One was called the Hong Kong Flu, iirc. There have been outbreaks of different virulent diseases in Africa for many decades. I believe there was an outbreak of what became known as the Marburg Virus in '67. Yugoslavia under Tito fought off an outbreak of one of the deadlier viruses in the late 70s, I think, by virtually cutting off his country from the rest of the world. These things have been around for a long, long time. |
