Buy 2000 grams of vitamin C for everyone in your family. If SARS because pandemic, start taking 1 gram of vitC every waking hour until diarrhea occurs, then wait 2 hours and resume 1 gram per hour until diarrhea occurs, rinse and repeat until the pandemic has subsided. Also, a Keto diet is recommended to maximize the amount of vitC your white blood cells can uptake. Fat does not compete with vitC, whereas sugar carbs, complex carbs and protein do. Sugar carbs are the worse, followed by complex and then protein.

Search the internet essential oils for pneumonia as well as bronchitis and virus.

My list includes oregano, myrtle, cardamom, eucalyptus, tea tree, and hyssop oils to acquire asap.

Looks like castor oil may be helpful as well.

There isn't much extra I could add to my current stockpile that would be reasonable, but for giggles I went out and looked on Amazon for masks.

Could get the expensive ones with the carbon fiilter replacement pads but the cheapies you see at the hospital? Back ordered to March in the worst case I saw.

A lot of those companies were shipping from China so I imagine they've had midnight knocks telling them not to ship to the US.

Either way, it's gonna be an interesting month or two.

Oh I agree with you there, but was worth checking in this instance. It matches up with some Rumint I've heard about China stomping the gas on their production for domestic use. Makes since they'd also cease sales overseas.

China will be most affected but it could have negative near term effects for us as well.

I rather they wouldn't for a few years. A relative is over there working and found a good woman. A rare good egg whom I've befriended as well. I'd hate to lose either or both of them as they recently had a child as well.

My preference is for it to mutate to just being like the common cold and be done with it.

A good exercise in planning when it comes to prepping is looking at a current crisis and applying it to your situation, and seeing where your flaws are. It's what caught my eye with this thread. Keeping attention here in case there is something I missed.

It would be a good time to buy some 3M N95 masks, while you still can.
Stay away from any Hospital if you can.

If out in the public, use your sleeve to open doors.
Don't touch your face, nose, mouth, eyes, or ears unless you have washed your hands first with soap and water.

To add to this, think about keeping some surgical gloves on hand. If you are in a hot zone, wear 'em and change them often. You will slip up and touch yourself.

If you go germx or purell crazy remember to wear some lotion from time to time. Best time is while you are sleeping just buy a pair of cheap cloth gloves to wea so they lotion absorbs Hand sanitizers dry out the skin and the skin is the first line of defense against disease. ANY open wound can catch spray from someone who sneezed just as easily as your mouth or nose could.

Be proactive and pay attention to where people touch. If you have to open a door that can be pushed, don't use the handle but the door frame is the best example I can think of. An entire surface won't be contaminated from one touch, you can use other parts if you pay attention.
