Pretty much sums it up.

Strategy I: Get sick early as long as there is still medical staff and medicine to treat symptoms (nothing works against the virus itself) around.

Strategy II: Hermit far away from any human contact. Not an option for most people that have a job and interact with humans. And you should already be doing so. Does not exclude the risk of the virus staying around in the environment though.

Worst case is getting infected when the systems are already overstretched and all you have at home is an empty fridge and nothing to treat symptoms.

Weapon of choice: Flumicil
Nothing special but may prevent your lungs from drowning in muccus.

Yeah I did that yesterday, got some very odd looks. I think it's good to do because getting about with all the gear is important. There are quite a few irritations that you have to get used to and if you do that when the virus is in full swing it might make you quite a bit more vulnerable. For instance with the mask you hair gets messed up and floats about making your face itchy. When you have those disposable gloves on they stick to everything and pull at your hair. Being conscious not to touch your face with your gloves, the gloves get really sweaty and sticky as well. I think those gardening gloves would be good to go about every day because they are easy to get off and on and you could wash them in the machine - easier to manage than the disposable gloves.

Then, if you wear glasses the bloody face mask doesn't fit so snuggly and it you fit your glasses over the top of the mask then you can't see properly and then the sticky ness of the disposable gloves makes adjusting your glasses, pulling your hair, fucking up the mask all a bit of a headache.

So I think find a mask that fits well across the nose - but make sure it isn't too large because it will come too much up your nose and mess with your glasses. Also then use a head scarf, I think one of those buff things (neck gater) would be good because they are long and can be used as a head cover and face cover. The good thing about the gloves and buff is that you can wash both and use them the next day. You can't really wash leather gloves, but the gardening gloves are good and tough.

Just some ideas from someone who is clumsy and easily agitated.

When I first saw your thread, I thought, meh.. I won't stock anymore, but in light of the new news, I bought more flour, rice, antivirals, liposomal vitamin C and a ton of canned soups and other things I'll use anyway even if nothing happens.

There's something wrong with this virus thing. I've never seen lockdowns like that, millions and millions of people.

The Chinese New Year timing so it can be spread by millions and millions coming and going from there. And it's already spreading.
