The human voice has enormous power - literal, quantifiable usable power. This was once, ages ago, common knowledge as was the usage of said power.
As in all such matters, the power of the human voice can be amazingly beneficial or cataclysmically destructive.
All voices contain varying degrees of potential. Like any ability, this can be enhanced through training and experience or can atrophy through lack thereof.
Some voices, however, do possess far greater baseline potential than generally found. These voices, once honed, have the power to make or move kings, help or harm empires and even shape history itself.
The most powerful can create or destroy worlds.
The Egyptian priest referenced in the article here was one such voice. It is, primarily, for this reason his vocal cords were replicated.
While true, the priest was chosen due to his relevant organs being intact, neither the recovery of the corpse nor the presence of intact vocal cords were purely matters of chance. Contrarily, the preserved priestly remains were specifically sought BECAUSE the seekers knew the cords would be intact.
This is because much of the original power is available from the actual sound of the voice alone provided this emanates from the orginal source organ. Hence, those who appear unduly excited by what would, to most, seem little more than a novel parlor trick at best.
While the inate power of the human voice has been, by and large, forgotten, there are those who, even now, make it their life's work to remember.
And those with such knowledge are ever seeking ANY potential source of power - not only for exploitation but, ultimately, for erradication of the source itself.
Make no mistake, I speak of an actual measurable power potential and though atrophied through eons of neglect, it is VERY real and present within every human being.
What's more, this isn't our species' only incredibly potent - yet long forgotten (suppressed) - ability.

Ok, so they made a 3d printed model of his voice pipe. Did they consider that his voice pipe was making a noise when he died, as most do, and that it was frozen that way when he died? So the noise they've gotten out of it is likely the remnants of a death-cry. Do death cries sound like normal people speaking?
