so how do I learn to do it? I hate cleaning. How do I live like a civilized person? How do I live classy like a human being?

When you don't keep your home clean for a long time the bugs start to take over your place. Then the mice & rats come in to go after your food and food waste. Then you are living in bug & rat shit. Nasty!

Each time you walk from one room to another, take TWO things with you....either throw them into a trash can outside ultimately, or place them where they should be stored.

Keep doing this slowly, and all will correct itself. Hopefully, you're not Jaba the Hutt and can get out of bed.

Yes. It is grotesque. Invite some people over and offer them things. Watch their faces and reactions. That feeling of shame you'll begin to feel is proof that you should be doing cleaning. If you don't feel it, you're becoming/have already become self-deluded and it's time to seek help. I live with hoarders and "pigs" who destroy their surroundings.

At least you're willing to admit it. Some house cleaning services aren't expensive. I've seen really cheap independent cleaners on craigslist. Start there. Keep in mind, depending on the level of filth, one person won't be able to do it all in one day.

Most people clean as they go. I'm doing laundry now and washing dishes by hand. I took out the trash this morning and dragged the trash can down the driveway to the edge of the road. I'll sweep and dust and vacuum before I stop for the night.
Then, tomorrow, I have to wash the bathroom rug, my sheets for my bed, and the dog's towels. The one chore I swear I hate is mopping the floors. I'll clean the trash cans and wash them and scrub the toilet and bathroom out. But, I hate mopping that damn floor.
